1. What are the Entry Requirements?
Leaving Cert points are not required. For specific course requirements see individual course pages. If English is not your first language you may be asked to sit an English language test. Cambridge, Ielts are also accepted. If Maths is part of the course you have applied for, a Maths grade may be required or you may be asked to sit a short maths test.
2a. How do I apply for a course?
You can apply for a course through our online application system. By clicking the “Apply Now” button you go directly to the application page. You will receive confirmation of your application via email. It’s important to use an email address that you use and check regularly, as this email will be used for all future updates from the college office.
2b. Can I apply for a second choice/course?
You can only apply for one course but there is always a possibility of transferring to another course in the first two weeks
3. I’ve started my application, but can I upload my documentation at a later stage?
Once you have started the application process, you can use your MIT application login details to upload the remaining documentation at a later stage. Be advised, applications won’t be considered complete without this documentation.
4. I’ve been offered a place, how do I accept and confirm my place?
Congratulations! You will have received an email from our Admissions Office with information on what should happen next. Here, you will find information about how to pay the €50 non- refundable Registration fee.
5. What are the Fees?
For all courses, course fees are now free. All students must only pay a €50 non-refundable Registration/administration fee to secure your place; you can pay this fee through our website. You can access your application details via the Cathal Brugha FET College website using your ID number and password.
No cash will be accepted at the office. Payments can be made online or by cheque (payable to Cathal Brugha FET), by bank draft or by postal order only.
6. I am a non EU-can I apply?

7. Is there a Grant?
There are PLC grants available for full time students. Students must apply for a means test. See www.susi.ie
8. What should I do if I have a Disability/Learning support need?
Students who have a learning support need are encouraged to provide the College with any relevant information at the time of application. Any information provided is treated confidentially and does not prejudice the application.
9. What do I do about Work Experience/Placement?
Some courses have a Work Placement element. Check your course web page. Applicants can make enquiries in their community etc. This is a one day a week Placement and/or block placement. The College will supply you with a letter covering your insurance while you are on placement.
10. What if I don’t pass my Leaving Cert-will I still have my place?
Further Education colleges offer a second chance to advance your education. Your application is not dependent on passing a state exam before you enter a further education course.
