Tracey McGovern participated in our student placement programme with the Mater Private and is now in full time employment there. Read about her experience:
My goal when returning to education was to refresh my computer skills so that I could get back to the workplace. What I got from the course was so much more than I expected.
The class was a mixture of young people, more mature students - like myself, nationals and non-nationals. It meant there was a great mix of experience, skills and viewpoints. Everyone helped each other out. Thanks to this course and everyone's help and support, I am now in full time employment as a medical administrator. I feel fully equipped to do this role thanks to the new knowledge I gained on the course and the skills the course helped me to remember I had. I would recommend this course and college to anyone looking to gain the skills and confidence to return to the workplace or as a stepping stone to third level education. It's practical, informative and results driven, run by people who are passionate about their student's success and future goals.
Thank you to all the tutors on the legal and medical administration course and to the staff at the college who made the whole experience a very positive one, from start to finish
Davin Eames went on to DCU. Read his story:
After spending a number of years out of education I was interested in doing a course to see if I would be able to go onto college. I was quite anxious about going back to education. My Tutor, Christine Falls made us all feel like we could get whatever we wanted out of the course. The course I did was Legal Administration, I chose this as I have a keen interest in the law and had one eye on doing law in college. The course gave me an introduction to modules I would end up doing in college but also practical skills I could use in a legal office if I decided not to go to college. I am now in DCU doing an honours degree in Law & History and could not have gotten here without the help I received in Cathal Brugha.
